Frequently Answered Questions

  • What time is check in and check out?
    Check-in is at 3pm. Checkout is 11am.
  • Do you have Wi-Fi?
    Limited Wi-Fi is available at no charge in the Main Lodge. Network connection can be spotty but Starlink is becoming increasingly reliable. Verizon and AT&T cell service tends to be good.
  • Do you provide shuttle service to the local area?
    Saguaro Lake Ranch does not offer any shuttle service to restaurants, airports, lakes, hiking trails, or recreation sites unless otherwise pre-arranged and agreed upon by SLR Management. Should you need a rental car or other means of transportation, we are happy to help you arrange a transfer with a transportation company at the front office or assist with scheduling an Uber or Lyft on your phone.
  • Do you allow pets?
    Pets are NOT permitted on site, unless they are a registered service animal specifically needed for medical reasons. If a service animal is brought on the property, it must remain on leash and under control at all times to protect our horses.
  • Can I bring a cooler on property?
    Coolers and ice chests are only allowed on the cabin porches and are not to be stored in the cabin as they may leak and soil the floors within the cabins. Coolers and ice chests may be transported around property, however guest-provided alcohol must remain in cabins or on porches at all times.
  • Do the cabins have kitchens?
    Our cabins are equipped with a mini-refrigerator and a small microwave, but do not have a kitchen/food preparation/cooking area. There is no cooking/grilling/or live flames allowed on property.
  • Do you allow long term stays?
    Yes, based upon availability. We typically reserve up to two weeks due to group buy-outs several times a month.
  • Can you tent/rv camp here?
    No, there are no camping/RV facilities on site.
  • How many cabins do you have?
    We have 20 unique historic rustic cabins.
  • How many guests can you accommodate at once?
    We have 20 individual cabins with various sleeping arrangements that can accommodate from 1 to 6 guests. We also offer the options to book the entire ranch for special events, i.e. Weddings, Family Reunions, Corporate Retreats. The maximum number of guests will depend on the type of event, and will need to be pre-arranged with our event manager. Click here for more information and to fill out an inquiry form.
  • What is your professional photography policy?
    We welcome you to take personal photos of your experience at the Ranch; however, please note that Professional or Commercial photography of any kind must be approved ahead of time by SLR Management and will incur a Photography Site fee starting at $150 + tax. No Music Videos, Drones, Engagement Photos, Bridal Photos, Elopements, Etc. may be taken without prior consent of Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch.
  • Can guests grill out at the ranch?
    Due to health code restrictions no cooking is permitted on-site. This includes outdoor grills/indoor crockpots, etc. You are welcome to bring prepared food that can be served cold or heated in a microwave.
  • How do I make horseback riding reservations?
    For some activities, you may be able to book online but for groups (20 person minimum) or to book an activity by phone, please call our Stables at 480-984-0335. Groups are welcome at Saguaro Lake Ranch for kayaking, horseback riding and more.
  • How old do you have to be for horseback riding?
    To embark on a horseback trail ride at the ranch, guests must be at least 7 years of age. Advanced reservations are required. Please call our Stables at (480) 984-0335 to make reservations or book online here.
  • What are your pool hours?
    The ranch outdoor pool is available to all guests until 10pm daily. Please note there is no lifeguard on duty.
  • Is the pool heated?
    Yes, during the cooler months our pool is heated.
  • Can you bring pool toys when staying at the ranch?
    Yes, as long as they are not too large and are not bothersome to other guests.
  • Do you serve lunch?
    Water activity guests (kayaking, paddle boarding, or rafting) may pre-order a deluxe boxed lunch to take on an adventure with them or have a picnic here at the Ranch. Choose from one of Chef’s signature sandwiches, which includes chips, veggies & dip, fresh fruit, and a homemade cookie or sweet treat. Lodging guests staying from September 28, 2025 to May 10, 2026 will have a buffet lunch included in their room rate. Boxed lunches are available at an additional cost if you request a lunch at a different time than our buffet lunch that is offered. From May 5, 2025 - September 27, 2025, boxed lunches can be purchased for an additional cost by all lodging guests.
  • What do guests do for dinner at the ranch?
    Depending on the time of year, our Seasonal Dining Plan offers different meal options for lodging guests. Seasonal Dinners: Included with Lodging September 28, 2025 - May 10, 2026 (All Bookings) Monday - Friday, our Chef invites you to join us in the Saguaro Dining Room for a handcrafted three-course dinner. On Select Weekends, you'll be the guest of honor at our public Cowboy Cookouts and Brisket & Burgers BBQ's in front of the Main Lodge. These events often feature live music! Click Here to view a calendar of our Public Dinner Events. If a public Cowboy Cookout or Brisket & Burgers BBQ is not available during your stay, the included dinner will be a three-course meal served in the Saguaro Dining Room, as described above. A selection of beer and wine is available at all dinners for purchase at an additional cost. From May 5, 2025 - September 27, 2025, dinner is not included in your stay. Please ask the front desk for a list of recommended off site restaurants. Shiprock Restaurant is located just 1 mile away at Saguaro Lake. They have limited hours so make sure to give them a call ahead of time. Please note we do not have a restaurant open to the public and only serve our lodging guests according to the dates above. Cowboy Cookouts & More: Our seasonal public cookout dinners are held frequently from October - April on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Visit our dining page for more information.
